A slow afternoon in the village
Not every day needs a plan. Some of the best moments come when you simply follow the island’s rhythm. Here’s a gentle itinerary for a slow afternoon in the nearby village — ideal for those in-between hours.
Start With A Stroll
Begin in the early afternoon when the sun starts to dip. Wander through cobblestone alleys, let yourself get a little lost. You’ll hear distant laughter, maybe a cat sleeping on a windowsill.
Tip: Skip the map. Just follow whatever catches your eye.
Visit The Artisan Store
Tucked near the old well, there’s a tiny shop run by an older couple selling handwoven textiles, natural soaps, and ceramics. Many items are made on the island — some even just a few streets away.
Bonus: They’ll likely offer you a tiny spoon of homemade fig jam.
Pause At The Village Square
Grab a drink at a low-key taverna. It might be iced tea, fresh lemonade, or a local aperitif. Sit in the shade and watch kids on bikes, neighbors chatting, time doing its thing.
Best seat: under the plane tree, near the corner.
Catch Golden Hour
The light hits differently here — softer, warmer. Walk up to the viewpoint above the village. You’ll see rooftops, olive trees, and the sea slowly turning gold.
Take it in. No need to take a photo.
Slow afternoons aren’t wasted. They’re remembered. When you leave, this might be what you miss most.
